Is there a way to exit the text editor dialog box without using the mouse? Hitting enter creates a new line. It would be nice if there was a shortcut key so that I’m not constantly reaching for a mouse just to click the ok button.
I understand hitting ESC twice exits the text editor but it does not save your changes upon exiting. Thus it’s more akin to hitting the CANCEL button than the ENTER/OK button.
Thank you Ed!
Will reproduce, screenshot and submit to the documentation team.
On a Mac, using LightBurn 2.0.03, the Esc key doesn’t exit and cancel the entered text. The first press moves from entering unselected text to editing or entering selected text with the text tool enabled, but it wouldn’t let me change the text until I clicked into the text. The second Esc key left the text selected, intact and jumped out of the editor. The third Esc key deselected the text. I’ll check to see what’s happening on a win 10 or win 11 machine.
You’re right.. this seems unanticipated.
The shout-out for documentation issues is always appreciated.
Are you referring to the Edit Text Shape box?
I’m testing different keystrokes to attempt to exit it.
I can exit the ‘conventional text entering/editing dialog’ and preserve the edit, by using tab to move from the selected text to another selectable object, then using Esc to leave the new selection.
