Expanding Text thickness

I want to cut out some text but the font has some very narrow elements. I have used bold text but this is not enough. Any suggestions please

You can convert the text to a path and use the offset tool to thicken it up. It will not be editable as Text any longer though.

If just a few spots you could also node edit them.

I have just tried that and I think it is just about to the point that with a little node editing it will work
