I’m french and I’ll try to use a good english to reach you.
I would like to export a file that I used a rectangle as a mask to hide some text outside of this rectangle. My export went wrong, I get all of the text without the mask in LB.
I tried severals thing like select “export text as curve” and some other options of this page, I tried to export my file using PDF and this one went wrong too : The rectangle is all black.
I put 96 as resolution.
I got an other trouble : when I export an object, my export don’t take care about the thickness, in LB they comes in one simple line…
I manage to importe my file only in png or jpeg or webp but I can’t use the
“offset filling” mode and my engraving take more than 4 hours without this mode…
Can you attach your Affinity Designer file here so we can take a look? Yo’ll probably need to add a “.TXT” extension to the file name otherwise the forum software is likely to reject it.
You could do this in Lightburn, without using Affinity (assuming I understand what you’re trying to achieve!).
Type your text, rotate it, and then make an array the right number of rows and columns:
Group the finished array. Then draw a rectangle to act as the mask, select everything and use the boolean commands to subtract the rectangle from the grouped array:
All the above assumes I understand what you’re trying to do of course! I did look at your Affinity file, but I don’t see an easy way to import it into Lightburn - and much as I like Affinity, it is probably easier to stick to Lightburn in this particular case.
Thank you very much, it’s exactly what I want to do. However, I would like to know how import my Affinity files into LB because I prefer draw my projects on Affinity.
I would like to know why the thikness is not imported in LB (I have some other projects allready make on AD).
I always export my Affinity files in .svg format. The file will be grouped, so ungroup it so that you can then give each vector it’s own layer in Lightburn, and set it to Line or Fill as required. (Only closed shapes can be filled of course).
Ok and is there a solution to get a biggest thickness with just LB ? If I want to get a thick circle, when I draw it with LB my laser make just one pass and is thin.
