Export in ai.\ dxf. file with Tabs

Hello everyone.

Help me find a solution, please. How can I export a file to ai. / dxf. with bridges / tabs saved. When I export, the bridges disappear. Is this even possible? I found your answer.

"Yes, you can set the tabs as you’d like, then with the shape selected,

  • Go to: ‘Edit’→’Convert to Cut (debug)’ to bake the tabs into a copy of that shape
  • With that new shape selected, then go to ‘File’->‘Export’->‘Save as SVG’ "

But I don’t have this button in the edit tab .Thanks

This may have moved under the Help menu. Take a look there.

Thanks, I found this button. But it still doesn’t save with tabs. Two solid lines, one overlaid on the other

Convert to Cut will result in the “cut” shapes overlaying the original. Make sure you’re not dealing with 2 sets of shapes. The “cut” debug shapes should reflect the incorporated tabs.

Got it. Great. That’s right. And what if I have a complex drawing? How can I select and save only the top line with Tabs?

This is really no different than any other object management but here are some tips:

  1. After the Cut debug, the previous selection will remain as-is, move that as necessary or move to a different layer.
  2. The Cut debug shapes should be automatically placed above the original layer. Simply grab and move after it’s created. It should move as a group.

Great. Thanks, everything works. God bless you) Sorry for the last stupid question. Have a nice day
