FEATURE REQUEST: Object order burning

I use selection-based burning on literally every burn.

What I would LOVE is one step above that. If I drop 50 objects on the workspace, I’d love to be able to burn each object, one at a time. Why? Because sh!t happens. If the lens alarm happens, or the laser module overheats, or a piece tilts and catches, opening the tray… any of these interrupts the operation.

If (and it always does!) it involves opening the machine and restarting… the material is NEVER in the exact same location…

Laying cuts over engraving NEVER works. EVER. Result is wasted time and material.

If I have 50 objects with 4 layers and the software can do each object, layer by layer, the most time and material I’d lose is a small number of items, if I’m watching.

All of what you describe is available using the LightBurn Cut Planner to order production the way you’d like. The following is worth a full review:

Are you kidding me?! How on Earth could I have missed this functionality for two years? This is exactly what I need to avoid destroying batches. It’s all too common, for various reasons, that a job gets interrupted after spending half an hour doing internal cuts (picture an array of copies of an object). Instead of having 40 copies of correctly cut, I end up with 80 copies of worthless parts, as I can’t guarantee alignment after, saying, yanking the laser for cleaning. I’m excited to experiment with this feature! Thank you.

Glad to hear it Todd! We do see requests for features that already exist, or find users who have not discovered the desired feature. Thank you for providing feedback. We’re making strides to improve, allowing these sorts of things to be easier to find and learn in the software.
