Feed Rate changing in operation

I’m just setting up my first simple project in Millmage RC-5. It’s a juice groove in a cutting board. I used a profile operation, set up a ½ ball mill and selected the outer profile of the groove. The preview looks fine, but when I looked at the gcode the feed rate was 1016 ipm. When I set up the ball mill, I specified 40 ipm as the feed rate. I opened up the operation and sure enough it was set to 1016 ipm. From the operation, I can open the tool profile and select OK and the feed rate is correct at 40 ipm in the operation. But if I select OK to close the operation dialog and then reopen it, it’s back to 1016 ipm again. It’s the same if I manually change the feed in the operation. Another odd thing is when I manually change the feed rate back to 40 ipm, the feed per tooth calculation doesn’t change. This is obviously a units problem (1016=25.4x40), but I have been through all my settings and I can’t find anything wrong. Is this a bug, or am I just missing something. I’m attaching my file.

In the top Menu, go to CNC Tools > Device Settings

What do you have set for your Device Settings

If your device settings here are set to mm/sec or mm/min instead of inches/min, I would expect to see this sort of issue. I’d love to see a copy of your .mage file and the gcode it produces so I can give it a review

I might have found something related to what you are describing and created an internal report for review.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ll get back when I know more.

Its set to in/min. I attached the mage file to the original post. Let me know if I need to re-upload it. I am attaching the gcode file.

Another odd behavior in this operation is if I open the operation and click on the up or down arrow beside the feed rate box, the feed rate goes to 10,000 in/min and the up/down arrows no longer work. You have to manually change the value then.

Thanks for the files! We’ve opened an investigation internally, and when we have further info to share, we will here.

I’m having the same issue (0.8.00-RC-5) although I haven’t checked the gcode, the feed and speed on the operations is off by 25.4 What was entered as inches converts to mm. I entered 60 IPM it displays as 1524 in/m. I enter 25 IPM it displays 635 in/m. Definitely a conversion problem somewhere. I’ve always used inches. Files that were correct before the update now change when opened.

@davebmck @Arohbe This has been addressed and merged in. I’ll perform some tests, when the internal Pre-PreRelease is available and will get back to you if I have further questions.

If all goes well, it will be in the upcoming RC.

Thanks again for bringing it to our attention!

I can confirm that this problem has been resolved the RC-6 release.
