I am cutting souvenir coasters out of 3mm acrylic. There is a round fill in the center that will not run completely. The fill stops at approx. 30% and the machine states “out of boundary”. I can burn a line round the same circle vector. The original artwork is imported from AI but I have redrawn the circle in LB and get the same results…
Does anybody have an idea what’s going on?
Thanks
I would imagine it’s an overscan problem. Can’t tell with these pictures.
Try your design on one part, in the middle of the laser. @Dskall and I agree that your laser head is travelling so fast, that there is. It room for it to slow down to change direction between passes without it running over the safe travel area. The only answer is to slow down the top speed, or leave more room on the sides between the work area and the edge of the engraved area.
On your PREVIEW screen, click the button that shows transfer moves. I bet the red smudge outline that shows where the laser head goes for each move will touch the edges of your preview screen.
It was definitely and overscan issue… I set them up in a single row with more space on the sides and they are running fine. Now that I know what overscan is and how to check the preview I’ll make this part of my new setup routine.
Thanks!
