Fill burn with negative shape left behind

Hi everyone, I am new to the laser world and am having trouble with a logo. I am wanting to fill burn a tree and inside that tree is a lightening bolt that I want to stay wood color (so no burn). I can not figure out how to make this happen. In the cut/layers tab each image is its own layer. Thank you for all your help!

Logo lightburn.lbrn2 (115.8 KB)

Put the lightning bolt on the same layer as the tree itself. The logic to “negate” overlapping portions works for shapes on the same layer but not across layers.

how do I get it on the same layer?

  1. Select the shape
  2. Assign/re-assign the shape to layer C25 by clicking the purple 25 at the bottom of the screen.

Amazing, Thank you so much for your help!!!
