Fill or offset fill?

I am engraving text and symbols (lines and circles). When would I use Fill and when Offset Fill?

Large contiguous areas can sometimes be advantageously filled with offset fill, for everything that is small and more complicated in its shape I use fill.
Text and symbols in normal font size are not suitable for offset fill

Offset fill is also not suited if you have dynamic shapes with varying sizes. You will get many left-over areas where another line didn’t fit. Additionally, if the size is not a multiple of the laser beam width, it also doesn’t work well.
Take this example, you will probably see not-lasered areas in the centers:

There are times when offset fill will be 2-3 faster than full .

offset fill works well on larger text and has the benefit of continuos operation. The best way to compare is to use the preview button and see the difference in run time needed to complete. Offset fill may need a slower travel speed, depending on your machine

Get some scrap and try it out for yourselves u use left over cardboard for such tests.
