A neighbor asked if I cut engrave the names of her grandchildren on a cutting board I built for her? I suggested getting each child to handwrite their names and I would try to replicate them. The issue is some of the writing is very faint and when I trace the image, sections of letters are missing. I do not have the original writings. How can I fill in the missing parts?
It’s hard to say without seeing what it’s about…, but it sounds like “restoration” work with a lot of node processing.
Try this. Keep the handwriting as an image and run it in Threshold mode. Using that mode I was able to turn this recipe into this output. I tried tracing it and didn’t get great results, but was very satisfied with the results using threshold.

I’ll give it shot right now. Thank you!
You’re a genius! Only one name didn’t work well as it is very light on a darker background. I think I can forge that one. Thanks again!
