If you are asking about resizing the finger joints, allowing the use of different thickness materials, we discuss in our documentation here:

If, on the other hand, you are looking to build a finger joint shape in LightBurn, share an image or illustration of how you plan to use this type of connection and the style of finger joint desired. This way, folks can offer focused, workflow suggestions to assist in this goal.

I will have to convert to SVG and split the sketch as I have no idea as to how to do finger joints to marry the two halves

With the intricacy of the lattice that makes up the train body, I wouldn’t finger joint those two parts quite the way you’ve sketched it. I’d consider setting both halves of the train body into the platform or rail and generating an overlap for both pieces.

Then use a joint like this to join the two panels:

I was thinking that with the laser it would be easy (HA) to make finger joints and as I am learning this is not the case, as a long time scroll sawer the laser makes the cuts a dream compared to me sitting for hours on the saw. I will use the ol shooting board after the laser.
Thank you and have a blessed weekend.

There is no reason you can’t use something like boxes.py, an online application.

I needed one for my stereo to cover it… Made a box and edited it’s top/sides for what I wanted…

You could make a box and use your design on the top/bottom or where ever…
