Hi. Im brand new to this and everything was working ok but then I enabled the fire tab for finding out where my laser was actually gonna fire. Well I cant get it to turn off. Ive taken the power to 0, made sure my fan was set at 0 ( Im usng a creality ender 3 laser mod btw). Ive turned everything off and on and it just stays on, even if lightburn isnt running please help
I’m not aware of a dedicated fire tab. Are you referring to the fire button that’s in Move window?
Normally, you’d fire the laser by pushing the button once. Be pressing the button again, the laser should turn off. Is this what you are doing?
If so, make sure that you’re not losing your connection after enabling fire. Are you still able to move the head using jogging controls?
If connection is not a problem, review the Laser Control Commands in Edit->Device Settings. Are they appropriate for your controller?
Yes the fire button in the move window where you know you can to turn it on and low power just to see where it’s going to fire at yes that button it won’t turn off now. Along with my fan now if I convert it back to 3D printer that blower fan stays on constantly it will not turn off. FYI in case you don’t know the laser plugged into the blower fan connection when not when you’re doing a laser etch/cut when you converted your 3D printed over to a laser you plug the laser into the blower fan connection and when you want to go back to 3D printing you unplug the lazer and plug your fan back in and now my fan won’t turn off either that whole connection right there just stays on
Sounds like that component has failed open. You’re saying this occurs even after power cycling? Try unplugging the controller from wall power and try turning on to fully dissipate any residual power in the system.
If it’s immediately turning on after restarting then some component has failed.
Do you know what commands you use to control on/off of laser/fan? If your LightBurn configuration was correct you can check this in Edit->Device Settings. You could try reissuing the off command through the Console but I don’t think it will work. Or at least the default state should be off after power cycling.
