Flat v bit preview query

Can’t do that. My CNC is in the “Crafts” bedroom with the lasers, on a utility cart. Sorry I do not have a pix on this PC (I am in NY visiting, not FL).

had play round with other settings while waiting on some stuff to cut

by turning of max dept cut tab this is what the top boexes end up like very odd ?

We have seen that before. It was somebody with a V-bit depth issue I think.

EDIT: I did not notice that this was a Vcarve path. At the corner, it ramps up and out, then down and back in. Strangely once it is back on the cutting line, it ramps up a little as it travels, then flattens out. this leaves a deeper notch in the corner.

I finally got back to check this, and it’s been fixed for the latest release. The issue was that you had your pass depth larger than your flute length, which we also now have a warning for:

Your pass depth was set to 3mm and the flat V bit you’re using has a flute length of 2.4mm.

just done new trial and it doesn’t look like yours even at 2mm set it to8 mm and no warning box apperas either

Ok, I was looking at the development branch, which is newer than what you have. I’ll figure out where the fix was for that and see if I can pull it across to a 9.0.x update.

Edit: Found it.

cheers oz, will be good to try out the flat V bit
