Flatten image mask reducing circle size

Hi,
This is my first issue ive had with this excellent software, so just hoping its something I’m missing!!
The Flatten image mask option with a circular tool path seems to be reducing the size of the circle once completed.

I use this for my clocks and its only started happening within the past day or two- I do my usual routine with the picture, but it reduces the circle size…Only a fraction, but its noticeable! from 220 to a lower size, so it looks slightly flat at the top and sides.
Running on a windows 10 pc and sculpfun s30 pro/

Any help appreciated

Thanks.

Hello Steven

Welcome aboard

Would it be possible to provide 2 Lbrn LightBurn files
One with the image+shape prior to flattening and one after flattening?

Hi,
Yes no problem. This happens to every picture but this one is less severe measurement wise!
Thanks

I do not seem to be able to replicate

Maybe you could provide the LBRN files, please?

Hi, Thanks for the welcome.
Do you think a re-install might fix it, as i can give that a go first?

Doubt reinstall would make a difference.
I am interested more on what is causing the issue on your file, hence why requested the LBRN prior and after the flattening.

Could be something that is there, but i am just not doing the correct steps to replicate.

ok, i just do the usual. Create the circle and change to T1 then import the picture into Lightburn. Then apply and flatten the image mask. I just did one at 200mm width and it cut that short aswell.
callieimage.lbrn2 (1.7 MB)
thanks

It is showing 199.989 mm for me

That might be in the margin of error of the line thickness.
That’s like a drop of 0.005%

Is that the difference you are seeing as well?

Yes, but the measurement differs. Some are worse than others and really noticeable.
I can find a way around it if needs be, but thought id highlight it.

While I agree there is a difference, It cannot be in any way shape of form noticable in a practical sense as we talking about 0.00x mm
Your laser will not have such a definition.

Numerically its different yes, I will inquire about why this difference happens.

Hi,

Id be interested to know why this happens, seeing as it never did before. I can work around it for now.
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like @gilaraujo is detecting a rounding error. Is it possible you did just not notice it before, or there were changes the location of your drawing slightly in the workspace. As Gil sort-of said, micrometer errors in a millimeter world are not worth worrying about.
