I’m having issues with a Frame Slop Error and I’m not sure what I’m not understanding here. I’ve read a lot of other forums about this and cannot seem to get it working for the life of me. My working size of my laser is 24" x 35", but when trying to cut out a 23.9" round circle, immediately after pressing start, my machine beeps and I continuously get the "frame slop error. work paused’ error on my laser controller.
I’ve watched that video and adjusted my starting location and my laser head to match (put both at the bottom center for example) and I’m still having the same issue. Was there something different that I missed?
I’m looking at all of my settings trying to figure out what’s going wrong, and in my device settings I notice that even though my working area shows 24x35, it shows 889mm x 609mm even though the correct measurements would be 600 x 900? Where would that be pulling from? Could that be my issue?
When I completely remove my laser and re-pair it, these are the default measurements it shows as the working area. It should be 24x35 but isn’t detecting that?
Those dimensions are read from your laser’s controller, so that is the issue. If you give the laser a command to exceed those dimensions, you get a frame slop error. It is possible to adjust the dimensions (max travel limits) in Machine Settings, but you want to be very sure you actually have that extra travel distance. It’s possible the laser’s actual dimensions are just a little bit less than its advertised dimensions, and it may be worth reaching out to your laser’s manufacturer to confirm.
