GALVO burning after cut ends

Hello! I’m having trouble with my laser when running with Lightburn.

I’m running Lightburn 1.7.00
Windows 10 Pro
Gweike G2 20w
Fiber Type: Raycus

I’ve run GRBL for the last few years and had no issues. Just got my first GALVO today. When I frame, the laser uses cutting power. Even when the dot is stationary it uses the cutting power. Is there a way to program it to frame at a lower speed? I know with GRBL there is but can’t find anything similar for GALVO. When the laser finishes a cut, the laser remains on and burns anything it touches. Also the laser is burning the traversal moves.

Take a look here (and further upthread). Did you set it up as a BSL device?

@fins
I set it up as a BSL, here’s a shot of the Device Settings, as well. I opened the link you sent, but nothing there helped either. The setup that Colin posted is the one I used when I set it up yesterday.

If what you’re saying is correct, IE that the laser is on even when the dot is sitting still, not framing, etc, then that sounds like a hardware failure and you should contact GWeike. I would expect it’ll be the same in GLaser.

I just downloaded and tested it on the Beta and still the same exact results. I was wondering the same thing. It’s not communicating to the laser to turn off, so I was wondering if it’s firmware related, or maybe a damaged cable for the IO pins.

Have you tried GLaser? If that software is doing it too then it’s safe to assume it’s a hardware fault of some kind.
