Galvo fiber frames but will not engrave – “Unrecognized board signature: 0000238409002002”

Hi, I’m trying to use LightBurn with a 60 W ComMarker MOPA fiber (galvo). The laser will frame correctly with the red pointer and the head movement looks normal, but when I click Start the job immediately goes to 100% and finishes with no engraving at all on the material.

I think I’ve tracked this down to the board not being recognized by LightBurn.

What I see in LightBurn

  • Device type: JCZFiber (galvo)
  • Connection status: Ready
  • Device was created by importing my EZCAD2 markcfg7 file, with the correct field size for my lens.
  • Fiber type in Device Settings has been tested as IPG_YLPM (and others) with no change.
  • Simple test jobs (e.g., 10×10 mm filled square at 90–100% power, 500–1000 mm/s, 30–60 kHz, Output ON) frame correctly but still produce no mark.
  • At the bottom of the LightBurn window I get this message:

Unrecognized board signature: 0000238409002002

From what I understand, that means LightBurn is talking to the card but does not recognize this particular JCZ board signature, so it won’t actually drive the laser source.

What Windows shows

  • Controller appears in Device Manager as USBLMCV4.
  • Driver name: LightBurn/BJJCZ EZCad2 Controller (installed via the LightBurn installer’s EzCad2 driver option).
  • No warning icons; Windows thinks the best driver is already installed.

What I’ve already tried

  • Re‑creating the JCZFiber device from my ComMarker EZCAD2 markcfg7 file (fresh device, correct work area).
  • Testing multiple Fiber Type options (including IPG_YLPM) in Device Settings.
  • Verifying layer Output, power/speed/frequency, and using a brand‑new simple file for testing.
  • Reinstalling the LightBurn EzCad2 driver and rebooting Windows.
  • EZCAD2 still gives “failed to open LMC driver” on this machine, but my main priority is to get LightBurn working.

At this point it looks like I’m running into the unknown‑board‑signature limitation more than a configuration issue on my side.

Request

Could you please:

  1. Confirm that board signature 0000238409002002 is currently unsupported, and
  2. Either add support for this board in an upcoming or test build, or let me know if there is a configuration/device‑file workaround that will allow LightBurn to actually fire the lasetion/device‑file workaround that will allow LightBurn to actually fire the laser on this controller?

I’ve attached:

  • My exported .lbdev device file for this JCZFiber setup.
  • A screencreenshots of my Device Settings and the simple test layer, if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any help—happy to test a beta build or provide more information if needed.

Attached the .lbdev device file for this JCZFiber setup.

I seem to remember reading all this in a previous posting.

Is this a duplicate posting?

Yes looks like someone else had the same problem. Unfortunately I don’t know if the solution will work for me.

Well at least you have someplace to start. Good luck!

Don’t know about your device, but Lightburn uses a different driver in Windows than EZCad.

You mention a JPT source, IPG types are a different manufacturer, not JPT, from what I know about this stuff.

Source type in your description clashes with what you’re telling us about the source.
