I have 2 galvo lasers, both Thunder. 1 is a 5W UV (JPT), the other is an Aurora Lite Fiber 50W. Say I want to engrave 2 small circles about 2 inches apart. When I frame on my UV it is fine. When I frame on my fiber, I get a red line conneecting the two circles.
I’ve looked at my settings and they seem to be identical. What am I missing so I can shut off that “connector” red line?
Does it actually engrave a line between the two? The Framing Red Light will often times have things connected, as it’s just running the laser around the design, etc. but it doesn’t actually engrave anything like that.
Do you have “Red dot always on” enabled in the “Ports and Laser Settings” tab?
(Turning it off didn’t change anything on my machine.)
I’m a little surprised that this connecting line is not present on the UV laser. My impression was that it’s not possible to turn the red dot on and off fast enough to avoid this so it’s always on.
Enable Blanking is the solution to this behavior, but it is not supported by all devices. If you lose all framing when blanking is enabled, this is a limitation of your hardware.
Although, Hull and Bounds framing may still work with blanking enabled, just not Contour.
