Hello!
New Lightburn user and Laser owner.
This is the only Category the Forum would allow me to create a topic in, so if this is the wrong place to ask this, my apologies.
I have tried searching for this issue, but I haven’t found anything quite like my problem.
I have been using 3D printers, and CNC machines for years so I know my way around CAD/CAM software and understand coordinates.
I just purchased an ATEZR L2 36W Laser Engraver and I have only had Lightburn for 2 days. I am updated to the latest release and patch (1.5.01).
I have been fighting issues with the Autofocus since first powering the machine on, and I soon discovered it’s because I had the Units in Lightburn set to INCHES.
I figured this might be the problem when I discovered that if I setup a MACRO, Lightburn executes them in mm’s despite having the software set to INCHES in settings. So setting the software to mm fixed the issue with the AutoFocus.
I am trying to setup my Laser for repeatability and I want to create a static bed for it, where the origin is consistent in the lower left hand corner, so I have ABSOLUTE COORDINATES set in Lightburn.
When I start a burn operation, everything is fine unless I am forced to STOP the operation. When I do that I get an alarm in the console and the Absolute Coordinates are lost, and I am forced to re-home and reset the Z Autofocus height.
Now, I don’t plan on stopping every operation that I start, but it does happen, and it is aggravating when I have to reset everything and start over.
I expect that the Absolute Coordinates would be ‘unchangeable’ as has been the rule with all other CNC machines I have operated in years past.
Is this a bug, or is it by design?
Or, do I have something set wrong in Lightburn?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
