When i save my work in Gcode and then check the file - the cut /fill i have mapped out in my work does not copy into the Gcode cut/fill. example: if i have 4 layer colors and cut/fill setting saved as a Lightburn file and save the Gcode - then open the Gode to check before cutting the cut?fill is black and all design elements are locked together.
Yes elements are unlocked in the LB file
Are you saying that you’re attempting to validate cut settings by importing the g-code back into LightBurn? If so, cut settings in LightBurn won’t be updated/preserved based on the g-code. Only active cut paths are imported as lines. The g-code itself will have comments showing the cut settings.
So being newbie your saying that i shouldn’t be concerned if none of the cut?fill setting appear
I see no comments - maybe i am looking in the wrong place
You should get one layer showing but the specific settings in LightBurn won’t reflect the actual settings that are in the g-code.
Are you looking at the actual generated g-code?
Can you upload the file here? You may need to change the extension to .txt for the forum to accept the file.
thanks for your help
possibility i was looking for something that’s not there
You usually don’t open/import gcode files in LightBurn. The common way is to use LightBurn project files, which preserve all required information. The only reason you should save something as gcode file is to copy it to a laser machine.
