This is probably not a LB issue. Can someone point me to a Genmitsu L8 forum. My laser is not recognized by my computer at all.
Unfortunately, the directions are rather poor.
Here are the symptoms:
USB Flash drive is not recognized. There is no acknowledgement whatsoever. No ding, no auto run, no finding in search, cannot find in D drive. It’s like it is not even plugged in.

What have I tried:
Tested my computer’s USB ports. The ports are accepting all of my other peripherals: printers, flash drives, cameras.
Step 2. Did it install correctly. Can you see in your operating system which com port has the driver assigned. This will be the port you need to your laser on.
Oh. I may be in over my head. I’m not exactly sure how to see if my OS has a COM Port. I went to device managers - didn’t see anything - tried to ‘add driver’ but couldn’t access the driver file. I did install the driver, but could only ever find the .exe file. I never found the app in Programs or Devices. I know this is not a L8 forum and I don’t want to take your time.
Do you have any suggestions where I can access L8 support? The Sainsmart website is more like “Sansmart”.
You will not see it until something powered up is connected to the far end of the USB cable plugged into the PC. You will probably then see a reference to “CH340” or 341 in the COM ports.
No problem with taking time, lets just get you up and running. Did you see in device manager any port with a ref to CH34x after running the driver EXE file ?
This shows it has not loaded correctly, once it does you will see “Ports” in your Device manager.
I just unzip it to my downloads folder and run it from there.
