Hello All, my first post here. I’m having a perplexing issue when engraving a circle. At the conclusion of the cut (two passes), the laser “flares up” briefly
, leaving a small burn mark (circled in red in the photo). Don’t know why this is happening. It’s a new phenomenon - any suggestions would be most appreciated. Machine is a Roly LaserMATIC MK2 30W. Thanks!
Thanks for the photo of your laser’s output. I think you need to go to your cut settings editor, switch from common to advanced and tweak your settings there until you get a circle without the overlap.
The symptom that being exhibited causing the burn mark I’d describe as a “flare up”. Here’s a link to a video showing it occurring :https://youtu.be/fZV2qhlxVmE
Have you tried editing the end time for the circle in your advanced cut settings editor? Your laser appears to be lingering at the end point longer than it should. If it’s not weird nodes in your circle shape then editing the advanced settings may resolve the issue.
I do believe that there’s something in the file that’s causing the corruption. I created a “duplicate” file from scratch, and the circle (Layer 03) cut properly, without the “hang time” at the end.
Thanks for letting us know how your issue was resolved. I inspected the file and was unable to pinpoint the weird spot that would have caused the flare.
