on a backup Fiber. I know I know. It’s like asking Chevy or Ford. Just hear me out for a minute.

You guys will have forgotten more than I’ll ever learn on the subject matter of lasers.

I currently have a 50w JPT fiber. I only do 1 large order of tumblers a year. 300 to 400. The rest is 25 hear or there.

I’d like to get a 2nd laser for backup purposes. I spoke with BWM about a lower machine that can use my current Chuck style Rotary. I know I can use my CO2, but the last time I tried it, I couldn’t engrave a square for what ever reason.

My main concern is for Tumblers. I can get 30W Raycus QB from BWM for 2590.00 shipped door to door.

Been sniffing around at these X-Tools as well, but it gets a bit overwhelming for me.

Please feel free to share your thoughts… I could use the input.

Get another laser exactly like the laser you now have, because when it fails you do not want to devote a week to figuring out why the backup laser doesn’t behave like the just-died laser.

An identical laser means all the lenses / fittings / tooling you already have fit exactly.

You can alternate between the lasers to ensure both behave the same way, rather than having an unfamiliar one standing in a corner waiting to double-cross you.

Bonus: you have twice the throughput when you need faster turnaround for an order.
