GRBL machine and roller to fit

I bought a cheap KKMOON engraver from china. Looks very similar to 1 of the DAJA machines. I decided I would like a roller for it and couldn’t actually find mention except an expansion port on the engraver. (USB) I decided to try the one from DAJA. Anyhow I’ve been through LB and another package. Is there something I’m missing in LB? What happens is the machine just performs as normal X & Y axis as if the roller wasn’t there. A blue led shows on the roller and the roller is equipped with motor driver/ USB chip. From china you rarely get instructions so am flying blind here, I am also unfamiliar with how other machines plug in to rollers.

Usually the roller connects to Y axis plug.

Your Bio shows Your laser: GRBL-M3, but I think it should just be GRBL.

Different system here I reckon, might have to go that way eventually. Thanks anyhow

I did try to change it, will give it a go. Think G code might also be the way ?But really don’t know much about it.Thanks

The -M3 version is for GRBL prior to the 1.1 version.

I tried all three in Lightburn Mike. None made any difference. Looking at g code now :face_with_diagonal_mouth: Last resort will be to compare Y axis motor to roller motor and see if they’re similar maybe able to plug straight in

Sorted it out if anybody is interested. Bypassed the usb output and separate motor controller. Opened up the unit, disconnected , extended the y axis outside and plugged it into the roller. Works a treat now.
