Hello, I recently obtained a used Gweike Cloud 50W. It is vibrating quite a lot in I believe the Y-Axis. I have gone through other posts, such as @keith2022 and significantly slowed down the axis and acceleration. The default was 1000, I reduced it to 100; and accelerations to 10.
Additionally, I have:
Cleaned and re-greased the rails
There was a loose bracket on the right side that holds the belt to the carriage - I replaced those screws and now it is tight
Cleaned the optics.
Between slowing it down and tightening the bracket, the problem is better, but still not great. When I do two cuts on top of each other, you can see subtle differences due to the vibrations / ringing.
Hi, I had so much trouble with my machine, with the Y speed at 1000 it jumps teeth on the belts, makes grinding sounds and the gantry jumps around, after contacting gweike support for the 100 time they wanted to see my vendor settings, they told me to reduce the Y speed from 1000 to 100, this finally fixed my issue, and my machine has no issues now, I don’t know if the Y setting should be at 1000 but the most I could push it to was 150 before the issues started again, I can only think the weight of the gantry and tube, and or some software might be causing it, anyway my machine is usable now, Here are my vendor settings from the machine , I hope they help, good luck.
Overall mass is the basis of stable acceleration values. It’s not uncommon to be conservative with these and 1000mm/s^2 isn’t that fast… Of course you’re draging all of the working parts, including tube and head.
I would be interested if @BillieRuben or someone with this machine could post the factory acceleration values… 100mm/s^2 seems pretty slow.
Moving around by hand feels smooth. Nothing obviously binding.
I did not reset the acceleration to the original value - I figure if it’s not working at a low value, it almost definitely won’t work at a high value.
I’ll check again… I cleaned everything and put it back together. Stuff was definitely loose when I got it.
If that’s the case, then there are multiple issues with the machine. I could definitely see some of the jerking before I did my initial remediations.
I made the changes, but still not looking right. Do you mind sharing the Cut Parameters and Engraving Parameters? Also, I’m on Lightburn 1.7 - not sure if worth upgrading?
If your license key has expired for free updates, you can try the new version by temporarily deactivating your key, and reactivating the trial under “Help > License Management”.
I went ahead and upgraded to 2.0 - no change there.
I did some additional testing and realized the jerking is a LOT worse at the top of the machine. When I frame at the top left/right, the jerking is incredibly visible. When I frame at the bottom, it’s barely noticeable (but still very slight). This leads me to believe it’s 100% mechanical. I measured the space between the rails, and it’s DEAD ON top and bottom, so it doesn’t look like the rails are out of alignment.
The jerking in your second video doesn’t sound too horrible to me
But you say, it’s “visible”. Does the motor appear to loose steps?
Try loosening this bracket again, wiggle it a bit, and move the Y-Axis towards the center. Tighten it there, so it hopefully ends up where it want’s to be.
As far as I compared from the screenshots, you are using the same settings, except for the Y Axis Max Speed 100, recommended by Keith.
You can select “Save to File” from the Machine Settings window to export your settings to a .lbset file, and compare the two files with a diff tool if you like.
