Gweike Cloud Material thickness setting with alternative lens holders

The new GC detection feature is great. It is nice to be able to enter the material thickness directly. However I am using an American Photonics lens holder which places the lens 3mm higher than the standard holder. Thus the thickness calculation is based on a 20 mm offset vs 17 mm and I still have to do some math…

Is the 17 mm value hard coded or is there a configuration setting that allows it to be tweaked? I looked but didn’t see anything obvious.

Try searching for something called “Focus Setting” or similar in User Parameters. That may allow you to change this.

I am still confused about this, I do not see a material thickness setting, am I assuming that the z height is now sudo named material thickness setting? and instead of entering my z height to drop 12.5mm i will now just enter 3mm and tell it to go down?

If you don’t see this it’s likely because you have “Relative Z Moves” in Edit->Device Settings enabled. Material thickness only appears if you disable that.

I saw another Topic where this was the case, yes.

Thanks for the hint. I went to Machine Settings > Vendor Settings > Z Axis Settings > and set Home Offset to 3mm and that did the job.

Interesting. I wouldn’t have expected that but suppose it can work. Were you not able to just change the focal distance directly? That seems more straightforward.
