Hello I have a Gweike Cloud RF laser and have had this machine for about 4+ years. It has worked in the past but recently have found that it is not firing on start up and after a lot of time trying to run a job it mysteriously kicks in and starts to fire. It is set to Packet (vs Serial) and I’ve tried both without success. The machine is framing correctly and also following the design whether it’s laser cutting or engraving. All that is good - the laser itself is not firing.
This almost sounds like an intermittent connection or a power supply problem.
I’ve never been in one of these, so I can’t say precisely. I can tell you they have a single signal wire that’s pwm, ground and power, of course.
If you have and can use a multivoltmeter, you can measure the pwm and the meter will read RMS or should be the same as Lightburn of the machines console. In other words, at 50% power, you’d read half the signal voltage or 2.5V.
I agree with @MikeyH as it’s most likely. These do fail and I know nothing about symptoms before they fail.
Double check your connection between the Ruida and the RF module.
