Gweike cloud z axis going crazy

I recently just got the Gweike cloud 50w. I’m very new to this but followed all the instructions, read a bunch of forums and videos and can’t seem to get the z axis to work.
Every time I put the material thickness in, the laser will push down on the material and cause the nozzle to scrap across. I’ve put in a higher material thickness number to see if that helps and it will once and then the next time it pushes down on the material.
I’ve done the calibration tests and when I find something that will work, it’ll only work once.
I’m on the trial of Lightburn so maybe this has something to do with it but the z axis seems to be wrong every time.
Once the nozzle pushes down on the material and I stop the laser the nozzle won’t go back up and I have to restart the laser and computer to get it to go back up.
When I hit focus, it’ll have a different focus location every time.
It’s driving me crazy.
Any help is much appreciated.
