Gweike G1 on Mac Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91)

So I recently won a G1. I successfully connected the laser, and can get it to move, it homes great, etc. So that is great. It just won’t actually burn anything. I keep getting the dreaded error:alarm lock.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Could be a chiller/water circulation error or a lid open error. Sometimes a lid open error is due to a fault or loose and misaligned sensor. Also, if there is a red emergency push button, make sure you twist it clockwise and release it.

The airflow feels good. There is no lid. I’ve pushed and untwisted the emergency stop.

I wonder if it’s not completely level? I will try that.

Not the airflow- the chiller water flow. Please check that and be sure there are not air bubbles.

I don’t have a chiller. it’s air cooled

OK- I have the wrong machine in mind. Sounds like you need to contact Gwieke!

What do you mean…? One of the interlocks is usually on the lid.

One of the problems with these and the Polar is no machine console. It would display the error and you could read the input from a console…

The only other thing you can do is check the inputs to the controllers drpot (door) and wp1 (water)

Do you own and can drive a voltmeter/multimeter?

We can help you with this…

So here is my machine. I got it for free from Gaming Geek YouTube channel. He couldn’t it to home. I got past that part. I do wonder if the baud rate on my usb port is too fast?
It is a smoothie board 1.2

When we see Gweike, most of us think co2 with a Ruida controller… that’s why you’ve gotten strange answers/questions… It was in your profile, that I looked at, but didn’t catch the G1 model… :crying_cat_face:

You did everything right, we hosed it up… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

@berainlb has a good knowledge of the Smoothie, maybe he’ll drop in and advise us further.

Can you post the boot information and any other console information that is displayed around the error message…

Sorry about the delay, we were all thinking of a different Gweike…

:smile_cat:

No that would a my bad. I honestly have no idea what I’m doing. I should have been more specific. You people are amazing. I’ll get all the messages later this evening when I get a chance to hook it up again.
I come from the 3D printing world.
So I’m used to doing the techy things. Laser and cnc are a whole new world to me.

Can you please provide the following:

  1. Full screenshot of LightBurn with the design loaded and ready to burn
  2. Full text of Console showing the error and any reference information
  3. To what corner of the machine does the laser home? I noticed that your pictures have you looking at the laser from the back of the machine. So please answer relative to native orientation of the machine
  4. After homing, if you push “Get position” in Move window, what are the reported coordinates?

So you guys are brilliant, and it works. Thank you very, very much.

turns out I’m an idiot, and I don’t understand starting positions in the setup menu.

Thank you, thank you.
