Gweike included green safety glasses?

Hi guys!

Gweike includes a set of green safety glasses, which I use together with the protective shield when using my laser (50W fiber laser), am I safe with this gear or shall I invest in something else? I do not want to become blind while working with the laser!

Hi brad, I have a 30w gweike fibre, I contacted them about the glasses and they assured me they would protect my eyes, but who knows I did a test on the lens and it didn’t burn through [ there is a video on laser everything about testing safety glasses ] but I am still very cautious,

I’d suggest you use whatever they sent you. Lots of these out there, but don’t see any blind or visually impaired hobbyist from using cheap goggles.

For a laser to damage something, it has to be absorbed by the material. I can mark bread, hot dogs and baloney with my co2.

Can’t do this with my fiber…

If you hunt around for fiber rust remover machine, there are lots of Chinese places that show groups of workers removing rust with a 1.5kW fiber and no goggles. There are also a few of them on youtube with normal people not wearing them…

Although I wonder how useful or effective goggles really are, however, I still wear eye protection.

You have to do what makes you feel safe or you won’t use the machine much…

Good luck
