Hey gang,
Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction of what may be causing my issue. I noticed my Omtech Polar 350 has started giving this error when the item is finished and the laser head is retracting. I had a similar issue that went away, but now this seems to happen once the job is complete. As the head is retracting to head back home it stops and beeps. The external controller shows the following for X, Y, and Z:
X:252.5
Y:23.4
Z: 0.2
about an hour ago it happened and the settings were
X: 188.1
Y: 61.3
Z: 0.0
As a warning, I have a Ruida on a Chinese machine, no Z axes and not a Polar. I’m not sure how the polar is configured or if it has some kind of special firmware.
So I’m just guessing from what I know of these controllers.
The Ruida has limit inputs separate from home inputs and have to be enabled for this to happen… At least on mine.
If it’s homing the Z axes, I wouldn’t expect a hard limit error to occur during a home operation as it doesn’t look at hard limit inputs during a home operation, if that’s what it’s doing.
Can you check Edit → Machine settings and find the limit enable to check it’s status?
This is for the Y axes, as I don’t have a screenshot of the machine settings with the Z axes expanded. Expand the Z axes and check if enabled or not.
