my laser head is running to the end and grinding on the z-axis when engraving on bottles or when i have the rollers hooked up. when a roller is on the move section in lightburn shows me apperently my bed size but it is at 330x330 and my bed size is 300x300 and it shows that in two spots. it runs perfect when the y axis is connected.
does anybody know how i could fix this.
First, your Z axis is the vertical axis for the laser head, up and down. X axis is the left right across the gantry and Y axis is front to back movement of the gantry. Screenshots of what you’re seeing, the discrepancy in dimension, would be helpful. (No phone pics please)
Secondarily it is very likely a homing issue. You cannot home the laser with a rotary attached as it has no limit switches.
Right now only way I can do a pic is by a phone pic, but in the MOVE selection of the screens the dimensions are 330 x 330 I figured that was why it was crashing. I did just so my 1st engraving but it doesn’t matter where I put my picture it’s etching in the middle of the laser bed.
Try WinKey+CTRL+S to capture any portion of the screen.
Try using Absolute Coords and see if the design location matches where the laser module goes.
