I’ve tried restarting the PC, restarting LB, new project, new project with a different pic but it still happens.
Pic attached, engraving started on lower-left corner but then started moving further and further to the right.setup details below, thanks if you can help.
CNC 3018 with Lasertree LT-80W-F45 10W laser module.
Lightburn version : 1.7.03
Win10 desktop PC
I forgot to say that it also goes to the left a few times, not only outside the area of the engraving but attempting to go off the bed and making the steppers grind.
When image engraving, overscan is the feature in between engraved lines that lets the engraver slow down, stop and reverse direction when ‘raster-scanning’ (back and forth).
When the engrave speeds are high, the overscan becomes larger. So, it takes more time and distance to accelerate and decelerate.
This can cause the laser engraver to overshoot the edge of the work area.
To check to see if this is any part of the behavior you’re seeing…
In LightBurn, open the Preview window.
Turn on the switch labelled ‘Show Traverse Moves’.
Capture the screen showing the Preview window with a Screenshot…
Thanks, i also read that i may just be going to fast, the DPI is around 300 and i was running at 3000mm/m so i’m currently doing a test run at half-speed, if that’s not succesfully repeatable then i’ll check the overscan, i did have that disabled in one test and it still happened.
