Hello, I am new to the Laser theme, I come from working in CNC that although they are similar there are many differences. I have a Galvo fiber laser, and it comes with the Ezcad2 program, and I want to switch to Lightburn,. Can you import the pencils? or do I have to recreate them one by one? Greetings to all.
You can always download the free trial version of Lightburn and test it.
You can read in the docs section how Lightburn works and watch several videos about it.
I am not familiar with Ezcad2 but I think what you mean about “pencils” is some kind of tool. and that you can’t import. Probably you will find different tools in lightburn that do the same or identical as in Ezcad2.
Hi, thanks for responding so soon. Yes, Pencil is called here in Spain to the tool you create for different materials. Unfortunately my English is very bad, you speak Spanish? to better explain. if I don’t try my horrible English.
A lot of us use Google Translate with pretty good success. With users all over the world, it has been a very useful tool.
OK, when buying the laser machine, the price included 10 hours of learning course, but in Ezccad2, I have been working for a while and I already have my tools created. I want to move to Lightburn because I see that it is a much more complete program, and with a great community, but I would not like to have to create all the tools and ahechas. That’s why I ask if there’s a tutorial or video that explains how to easily import those files into Lightburn.
If it runs EZCad2, then it will work with Lightburn.
Beats me… I can’t run EZCad on my machine natively, so I don’t.
I’d suggest you check out the Laser Everything site, that has setting libraries that are good starting points. They also have translation software to do some of these translation operations between the two applications…
Good luck - have fun
Okay thanks, I look
