Help connecting laptop to Ruida controller on 50w “China” laser

I am new to lasers and not the most literate computer person. I have a 50w “China” laser that I recently purchase. The controller is a Ruida. I am trying to connect using a Dell laptop running Windows 10. After trying to connect using a couple different USB cables, I switched to the Ethernet cables and have tried 4 of them without being able to connect. I can add the device to Lightburn, but it says “disconnected” below the line that says Laser on the bottom right side. I have tried re-booting several times, checked connections, and added and removed the device several times without success. Any help getting up and running would be greatly appreciated.

Although it’s possible to directly connect Ethernet to your pc, you have to know how to set it up.

A Ruida can be plugged into you lan, not directly into your pc. The only thing about a Ruida on your lan, is the router has to be aware of it’s existence and know what IP not to assign. Usually that’s pretty simple when you need to hunt it down.

The Ruida has a static (fixed) IP, you can read it off your controllers console.

Sing out if you have issues… I’ve used one coming up on 7 years…
