Need some help engraving the limited edition Copper Yeti products.
Using 80W Chinese grey and white machine.
I have no problems engraving regular powder coated Yetis using Speed 150/ 20% power but have cranked it up to Sp40/70% with no effect.
Has anyone had any success with these? If so how much power did you need?
Even Yeti themselves does not provide laser engraving services on the Copper mugs, so that should tell you something. I’ve seen some people that have had some success, but it’s been with Fiber Lasers, and not co2 lasers. They just flat don’t look good with co2 unfortunately.
You will have to use some sort of coating. The copper just pulls the heat out too fast to ablate.
CO2 just can’t engrave or mark copper.
Thanks, Steve. I thought this may be the case
