HELP! Longer ray 5 10w issues

I was having a ton of issues getting this laser to talk to light burn after putting it together. I tried everything I could think of and everything I. Hold find online. Nothing seemed to work so I thought it needed a firmware update . I followed the instructions to use the EP online tool to update the firmware to what I thought was the correct firmware update from the longer website, my laser now does NOT boot up!!! It just displays the longer logo and does nothing else!!! Please help me!!!

I dont know anything about Longer set-up but…

Do you have the correct device selected and the correct COM port (USB cable to machine). Is the longer logo an indicator light to let you know that power is getting to the machine.

Does the correct machine appear (bottom right) of laser window.

The light burn won’t connect to the machine at all after I tried the upgrade. It was having connection issues to begin with and that why I thought I should upgrade it. After some research, apparently you are supposed to upgrade the screen firmware first and then the motherboard. That step is NOT in any instructions I have found and now it’s locked up until I can figure out how to flash the screen firmware. I’m just so frustrated!!!

You can try to reflash the correct firmware again.

If I can find the original file I would. I can’t find anything for this laser and it seems the updated one on the website doesn’t work either.

Have you tried to reach out to their support? Sometimes the manufacture can help get things reset. Here is a link to them if you do not have it, Contact US – LONGER Their number is listed at the bottom.

I know it can be frustrating, however, in my experience with my machines I have owned I had problems and they were helpful to get them resolved. Sometimes it was an overlooked thing I felt like Duh after the experience, while other times it was a learning experience for both parties.

Did you install the CH340 Driver on your computer?

I tried to call yesterday when it happened and all I got was a voicemail box. I will try again Monday when I hope they are open.

Yes I did. I have a ray5 mini that runs just fine.

Try the cables from the Ray5 mini.

Also, if you have more than one LB and/or LaserGRBL window open on the same com port that can also be a problem
