Help Please! Monport 30w fiber died while running - everything else is good. Replaced the laser module and still not working!

Issue with Raycus 30W Fiber Laser Not Firing After Replacement

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on a fiber laser issue that has persisted even after replacing the laser module. I’m using a Monport 30W galvo fiber laser engraving machine with a Raycus 30W fiber laser. Below are the details and tests we’ve done to troubleshoot the issue:

Problem Description:

  • The fiber laser stopped firing mid-job while engraving. We replaced the fiber laser module with a new 30W Raycus unit, but the same issue persists.
  • The red laser (for tracing) and the galvo head are working properly, so we don’t believe it’s an issue with the beam splitter or optics.
  • The fans on the fiber laser module are spinning as expected, indicating the module is powered.
  • On the BJJCZ control board, the green LED is on constantly (indicating power), and the red LED lights up when the laser is supposed to fire, signaling the laser activation.

Troubleshooting Tests Performed:

  1. Power Supply Check: Verified with a multimeter that the power supply is stable and within spec. The fans on the laser module are spinning, so power appears to be fine.
  2. Signal Path Check: Unsure of where to check for the firing signal being sent to the fiber laser module. We’ve inspected the wiring and connections between the control board and the fiber laser, and everything appears secure.
  3. Galvo Head & Red Laser: The galvo mirrors are working, and the red laser traces the correct pattern where the fiber laser should be engraving.
  4. Replaced Fiber Laser Module: Installed a brand new 30W Raycus fiber laser module, but the problem persists—still no firing from the laser.
  5. Software Settings: Reviewed the settings in EZCAD, and everything looks correct. The software is signaling the laser to fire (as indicated by the control board’s red LED lighting up).

Current Status:

Despite all these tests, the fiber laser still won’t fire. We suspect there could be an issue with the control board not properly sending the firing signal, or a problem with the laser driver (even though we’ve replaced the laser module). If anyone has experience troubleshooting this kind of issue or knows where to test the signal on the control board, we would appreciate any advice!
