Help: Sculpfun S9 Upgraded X-Axis Issues

I upgraded the X-Axis on my Sculpfun S9 with the upgrade kit correctly, although I cannot get lightburn to configure.

There wasn’t any configuration information in the directions so now it just hits the sides.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated
Thank you kindly!

I wasn’t aware of this but looks like it just swaps out the rubber wheels for a linear rail?

Does this change the dimensions for the X-axis? Otherwise I don’t see how this would change anything from current.

Was the laser working for you prior to the upgrade?

So it relocates the main rotor to the far right (instead of the middle) and I believe that is why everything has been thrown off. Everything else about the laser remains the same and yes it worked previously.

Let’s go back to basics.

Start the machine with the laser head in the middle of the frame. Using jog controls does the laser move as expected? Left goes left, right goes right, up goes up, down goes down?

If not, make sure you haven’t connected the cable to the X-motor backwards. Also, did the kit come with an updated cable? It’s possible that the direction of the motor has been inverted but I can’t imagine Sculpfun doing that without a hardware solution or instructions to change this.

Can you run this in Console and return output:

$I

?

The laser does not appear to be moving as expected. Up jog goes left, down jog goes right, right jog goes down and left jog goes up.

The cables appear to be in the correct locations as shown in the directions.

Yes, the kit did come with updated cables.

Here is the return output:

Thank you so much for helping!!!

I suggest you revisit this. You almost certainly have swapped the X and Y cables or plugged them into the wrong port on the controller. That likely is the cause of your issues.

You were absolutely right! I mixed up one of the extension cables. Can’t thank you enough

Awesome. Glad that worked and you’re back up and running.
