Hockey Rocketry

I’m old retired and bored so I’m always looking for projects (I’m currently in the process of restoring a 1974 Bricklin SV-1), so, even though I’m that rare Canadian who doesn’t care about hockey, I decided to make a bunch of Oilers images on slate.
As they are currently in the running for that weird no Scotch holding cup shaped thing, I felt the urge to add to the regular logo and leave them around Edmonton for people to find.
When I ran out of slate, I went to a local commercial landscaping company and asked for a good price on any scrap they had on hand. I told them what I was doing and they offered me “a decent amount” for free. Yesterday a friggin’ dump truck showed up at the acreage and left a full load for my playing pleasure.
Apparently the owners of the company are Oilers fans and will donate $10,000 to local charities if I keep making them until the playoffs are done. They have even gotten permission from the club for us to leave them around the city for people to find. These aren’t designed to be coasters as they are different sizes and thickness.

Like the idea of leaving them in random places.

I came across someone who was lasering rocks found at the beach. Odd geometric patterns - no meaning, just intricate. Then he would go back to where the rock was from and leave it there.

His theory was that people would find them and cause a kerfuffle (you have kefuffles in Canada? lol)

I do petrogliphs on rocks and leave them laying around at the beach for kids to find.

Thats a good strip.

Mine is in much better shape body wise than the one in this video. The motor and transmission needed to be rebuilt which I finished last month. I did change out the hydraulic door lift mechanism and changed it to air. I’m hoping to it ready for driving next month.
