Homing and framing with a rotary

I set up the rotary. it set to y axis. I frame the machine move it to where I want it to frame on the tumbler, But when I push start It homes and then starts from homing. In the past I have been able to frame it move it to where I want it to start I push start and it starts from where I placed it. How do I fix this?

Have you selected Current Position as the Start From: in the Laser window?

I have absolute coords selected

I always use Absolute Coords, EXCEPT when using the rotary. I then use Current Position because you are manually positioning the laser in the Yaxis. That only leaves getting the Xaxis in the right starting place. :grinning:

That does not appear to be the case:

Per the User Origin doc:

To set a User Origin, you must first jog your laser to the location you want your job to start from, then set the origin.

After you’ve set the origin position, the location of the dark spot in the Job Origin array determines where the design will appear relative to the origin. If you’re centering the design on the mug, put the dot in the center of the array.

I have tried it in absolute cord and in origin cord and it frames just fine but as soon as I select go it moves all the way to the left and starts in a different spot. I’m trying to upload a video of it doing it but I can’t get it to work.

video of it framing and starting

Try this go to Device Settings:

  1. disable Pointer Offset

  2. Enable Laser Fire Button and Laser On when framing (with very low power)

  3. Set your project to Start from Current Position

  4. Jog your laser head to where you want it to start according to Current Position select point.

  5. Put on your laser googles frame/check using the laser point then run the job.

  6. Report back.
