My unit is a creality falcon, focused, smooth, no problems with it. Occasionally I will not set the power high enough and won’t get a clean cut. Before the burn, i make it home itself. It returns after, I see my error, but when I try to send the cutter back out, it misses the mark and will cut OFF the original path and ruin the first piece. Tried selecting specific pieces to cut and it’s still off. How does it forget the layout and does it have to do with the homing command?
What start from position are you using in your laser window?
How far are things off by? Can we get a screenshot of your LightBurn workspace and a photo of the engraving?
It seems to actually be the homing command that throws it off. Trial run, i homed, cut, let it return, but DID NOT click the home button. Instead I just started it again and it was spot on. I would think autohome and manual home would be the same position but it appears not.
I have had this problem when step idle delay $1, is other than 255 .
Step idle delay keeps power to the motors all the time.
There is no auto or manual, just the Home cycle. At any time, whether it Homes on power up, or you do it by clicking a Home button in the Laser ot Move window, it should home to the same place every time.
If not, you have a mechanical problem. If it does not burn the same place after a Home cycle, then…
- You have a mechanical problem.
- Your laser frame is moving.
- The part being burned is moving.
- The laser is moved by hand, or by tension on the wiring cables, after a short delay. This is cured with the information @Nikolatesla provided.
