Homing fail Alarm:9

I just started using light burn and I have not yet been able to engrave. So I have not purchased the license because I would like to see how it works before I purchase it. The console keeps telling me that I have

alarm:9
homing fail could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5Max _ travel on search in 5 pulloff on locate phases.

I have tried looking up the different codes and put them in. It tells me okay and after I press the home button again it gives me the same alarm. The laser will home but when it gets to the final destination it does not stop for 10 or 15 seconds.

Does your laser have limit switches? Otherwise, it can’t home. This is not required at all, basically. Turn of “auto home at startup” in device settings.

If it does have limit switches, you might try increasing the Pull Off parameter ($27) a little bit. In that final Homing move, it has to travel far enough to actually open the switch.

I honestly don’t know enough about it to know that has limit switches. If you could talk me through it a little bit more I could give you more information. When I turned off the auto home on startup it gave me the code

Error:15
Jog Target exceeds machine travel. Command ignored.

I tried inserting $27=3.000, but it still gave me the same error: 15

Time for more detail.

  1. Enter $$ in the Console window.
  2. Enter $# in the Console window.
  3. Now copy everything from the $$ down and paste it in the Reply.
  4. Also include if you are using Absolute Coords (in the Laser window).
