Homing fail. Cycle failed to clear limit switch when pulling off

I just purchased an Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro. My laser will not “home”. Any input greatly appreciated.

The homing cycle will have the laser touch both X and Y limit switches, then back off a bit, then touch again. After the second touch, the machine will pull-off to the final resting position.

The message is indicating that even after the final pull-off that the limit switches are still being actuated.

Ortur settings are typically pretty good. If the limit switches are still being actuated after pull-off then there’s likely an assembly issue. First confirm that the switches are in fact being actuated after pull-off. Check that the switches in general work okay.

Check what’s preventing the pull-off distance from clearing the switches. It’s likely that the switches are installed incorrectly or something mechanical is preventing proper pull-off. Make sure that your machine is built square and is not actually a diamond shape.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding. You provided a wealth of incredible information. When I power up the laser it does not move from its location It does not touch the switches.

Manually move the laser head to the middle of the frame. Then power on the machine. It should attempt to move. If it doesn’t, then connect through LightBurn and push the home button. Capture the full output from Console and copy/paste here.

ps. i can not thank you enough. I have felt hopeless and ready to give up. Thank you for your help

Can you confirm that there was no movement at all?

The sequence is a bit odd.

Can you make sure that the emergency stop is not actuated?

If that’s not the issue, can you run this command in Console and return the output?

?

no movement at all
emrgency stop is not on. I even pushed it in to double check.

did you want me to run the command
?

So for some reason the machine believes that all limit switches are currently being actuated. In fact, it believes that even Z is being activated. I didn’t think that your machine comes with a Z axis.

Recheck all your wiring. I suspect something is incorrectly connected.
