Homing Failed, Cycle failed to clear limit switch when pulling off

I have been using NEJE Max 4 for almost the last few months and have been working very fine till now, I did a few of the updates of the Lightburn software, and since then I have been having issues of the “Homing” but somehow it was not giving any trouble in working but today I found that it has started giving me error in my Job as well, I mean laser was not moving as per the giving job command, if I start the job of Square cutting then it will do weird shape and even Z move was also getting wrong.

Below are the settings I got from the machine

I have plugged out power and connection cable and replugged it and it has solve the issue for a short time but when i did a small job in the middle of the laser bed and given command to go home back, it has again given me the same trouble. Few more setting what I have copied from the machine are below

Can you please help me to solve this issue in permanent basis.

I would try it in lasergrbl and see if you have problems there also. I suspect you may have a bad connection in your wiring.

Sorry i don’t know how to do in laser GRBl, but it was working all good till now

I did installed the NEJE Software which worked on GRBL I think, that the machine has done proper Homing without any error, it looks like something went wrong in Lightburn software only which is not allowing the machine to do Homing in addition to that today when I am trying to connect it with Lighrburn, it is going to top right corner instead of going to Top left corner for the Homing, please help me as I have some project to do on urgent basis and without machine working properly I am unable to do so.

Somehow I have managed to make it work by stopping Homing with the $22=0 command, but I would like to make this solved as this is not the cabling issue, it looks like software upgrade has triggered something and has started causing this issue and even I have tried to load prefab but that has also not resolved the issue.

First, go to File Menu> Preferences> Load Prefs Backup and choose one from before you did any updates. In other words from a known good date.

if that doesn’t solve your problem please post a screenshot of your entire Lightburn screen with the Cuts/Layers Panel and Laser Panel visible. Also post a screenshot of the Settings Window (Gears icon) with the Units and Grids tab visible and post a screenshot of the Device Settings Window (Wrench and Screwdriver icon).

Attached here as a requested

I don’t see any issue in your settings. Did you load a backup Prefs file from before the update?

Yes, I did that, but still hasn’t shown any difference. At the moment I have disabled Homing so I can at least use the Laser but would like to know the solution of it, I thought that might be cableing issue but it worked fine in NEJE GRBL so cables are not the issue.

I have checked everything but everytime I am connecting it to Lightburn its giving that Griding noise.

If you use the controls in the move tab does the laser move in the proper direction? Right arrow moves right, up arrow moves to back, etc.?

Yes all functions are going properly, I checked those and they all performing as per command only, so I do not see any invert action.

But yet when you click home it goes to the opposite corner, right rear?

Yes, now it is doing that, earlier it was giving grinding noise on top left corner but now it is moving to top right, i think that is not the issue I can manage that, only issue is that grinding noise.

Use the move controls to move the laser head to the left front position then click get position and report what it reads.

Will do that, but at the moment I am out and can’t access the machine will do that in evening, but any idea what I need to after?

If it reports X-0 & Y-0 I want you to enter $23=0 in console and try homing again. If it reads other than that, I’m not sure what to try next. I guess you could try $23=0 either way.

What I noticed in your console output is $3=0 which is axis direction, but $23=1 which is homing direction. They are usually the same value, I believe.

Thank you so much for your valuable input, will do that and update if it solved the problem or not. Do you want me to put all console values here again after doing that as today morning I did a prefab load almost 2 months before which may have changed some of the values after i provided them here in the post.

Yes, post a full console output again after the changes. Hopefully it works for you. It’s time for me to go to bed now.

Good Night sir, Thanks once again.

Hi Sir, Hope you are doing well, did everything but nothing works, and looks like I messed up as well it has stopped doing Homing in NEJE GRBL software as well, it was working all weirdly doing the inverter move with the Y-axis, doing inverter engraving then I have removed the machine and re-added and somehow I was able to manage to carry out the job which I want to do without doing Homing,

But as you have asked me to check the Position what it shows when it reaches to Top left, when I placed it, it reached to top left and had a grinding noise for some time and then came with the error Homing failed but then when I click to get the position it has shown completely wrong position which was X = -1125 and Y = 1125

Then I powered off the machine, Turned it on Again, and Ran the Lightburn again and this time it showed all values as 0,0.

This is making me confused seriously, just want to clarify one thing if I keep Homing off and work with the machine any negative effect of that? as machine is working all fine without doing Homing.

Below are the data, I have even checked $131 and $130 they are correct as per machine value, so I don’t know how come 1125 value comes in the X and Y positions. I think Lightburn software support only can help me out in case if they can able to take my computer remote and check it from their end.
