Horizontal lines not cutting fully let to right

Developed model building facade with window openings using VISIO. Saved as .svg. Imported to lightburn. Cut from heavy card using recommended speed/power settings (540.100%). Horizontal cuts left to right do not cut through on internal openings. External outline cuts perfectly. Test cuts on lightburn derived shapes work perfectly.
Something being lost in svg translation?

Can you upload the .lbrn file and a photo of your results?

Is the photo the front or back side of the burn?

I don’t see anything fundamentally wrong in the file.

If the photo is the front side that would imply that the laser isn’t even on during the missed parts. If that is the backside and you’re just not getting a full cut then possibly something else at play, Possibly an issue in the firmware in variable power handling.

I’m curious why the perimeter cut is fine in both directions but not the interior. But again, to me this indicates a firmware issue.

Further test cuts show that the problem is NOT related to the VISIO or svg file. It just happened that the other horizontals ran right to left! As far as I know I have the latest firmware version but will run a confirmatory test.
It doesn’t appear to occur with Xtool’s proprietary sottware but that doesn’t have print and cut that I need to cut the openings in the printed wall sections!
Thanks for the help to date.

I would think this would be the one commonality except if the outer parameter didn’t have both left->right and right->left movements. I’m going to guess this is related to power modulation not working properly.

I’m not sure if it’s supported on the xTool lasers but try enabling “Constant Power Mode” on the cut settings. Does that change the behavior? If so, likely a bug in the variable power portion of the firmware.

Reloaded xtool firmware. Seems(?) tp have solved problem!!!

You reloaded the same firmware or upgraded the firmware?

What version were you running and what are you running now?

This could help others who are in the same boat.

Sorry about delay in responding. Got sidetracked! Loaded Firmware 40.30.006.01B5. Don’t know what version I replaced. Horizontal cuts seem ok now. However, other problems still present.

Laser fire button is inoperative as is framing laser dot. Cross hairs positioning is also not available. [Can get framing dot in Laserbox but it does not remain enabled when I exit Laserbox.] Obviously need laser dot to use print and cut.

Saw somewhere that if Iask nicely I can get a third license? My son very kindly bought me my xtool D1 and suggested I purchase Lightburn. However, he is not in the same city and would like to be able to review my files for suggestions as to where I am screwing up! [I consider myself reasonably tech savvy but am rapidly approaching 89 and maybe not as fast on the uptake as previously???]

You need to enable “Enable fire button” in Edit->Device Settings for the Fire button to be available in Move window. There is also an option to enable laser on frame. You will need to set the appropriate speed and power level of the Fire button in Move window for this to work.

Not sure why this would be the case but you’ll likely need to enable in xTool software.

I’d suggesting sending a request to support@lightburnsoftware.com with your circumstances and your key. Please don’t post your key here publicly.

^^ As PY said, shoot us an email with your key and we can get that added, no problem
