How can I Paste-In-Place?

Is it possible to Paste In Place in LightBurn? I can get close if I place my pointer in the middle node of what I copied when I go to paste. However that is not a perfect match and I then need to micro adjust. Even then it’s almost never in the exact same location.

You can diplicate an item. That places it directly on top of the original. Right click, Duplicate or keystroke Ctrl/Cmd-D

This function has never worked well enough (also for me) to be used seriously for designing/drawing. A long time ago I tried to get an explanation for this inaccuracy, but without useful success.

When I copy and paste in place from one LB document to another, it places it correctly. I am using the beta of 1.7

It will be great if the feature works now, I gave up long ago and haven’t tried again.
Probably my expectation for this tool is too high and for several technical reasons cannot be realized.
Copying a square with mouse pointers on one of the corners and placing it exactly on an existing other corner/point/line of another shape with paste-in-place did not give me the expected result.
Currently I am on a trip and cannot test whether what you write also works for me, but of course I will be happy if the problem is solved.

I just tried Tim’s suggestion of Cmd+D (on Mac) and it worked flawlessly. What a relief. Thanks @thelmuth! The version of LB I’m running is 1.6.03. I know how frustrating it is to not have the paste-in-place feature—I used it a lot—so hope this works for you as it has for me. Cheers!

It has always worked perfectly, but it’s not the “paste in place” feature.

Paste in place:email:

To paste an object from the clipboard click “Paste in place” in the Edit menu or press Alt+V. This will place a copy of the clipboard contents in the current file in the same spot that it was in the original file.

I have misinterpreted the feature total.
In LB fine documentation, it is otherwise clearly written and is the same as you write.

My understanding was that I could place a copy of a shape, for example, in the same project, akurate where the mouse tip points …
Practically, it does not affect my daily work in Lightburn because there are some other options for this purpose.
… I have lern something again  Thanks
