I don’t know if I understand centering - Object with object
Which key turns off snapping so that it centers according to the object and does not snap (I mean fast)
Second case
How can I center with locked objects (as I don’t want them to center)?
Look at image. The blue and orange ones are locked.
I don’t understand why I can’t search for keyboard shortcuts with Ctrl+F in the PDF (and I don’t know if I’ve missed something)
Is there a single video online that systematically goes through the use of all tools in LB 1.7?
Including timestamps, of course.
Isn’t closing quality topics after 30 days sometimes highly counterproductive?
Not sure I totally understand your questions, but I’ll try. To disable snapping while dragging an item, hold the ctrl/cmd key. This disables snapping temporarily allowing granular control
I don’t understand this. You ask how to center but at the same time say you don’t want them to center. I looked at your image but need further explanation of what you want to do.
Locked images are just that, locked in place. They won’t move from the location they are locked. You can center items within a locked item, but cannot center a locked item to something else without unlocking it.
No, because it would likely be 30+ hours long. I doubt you can digest and remember all that at one time either.
In what way? 30 days of inactivity means it went stale. Not all topics close automatically. If you have a new comment, make a new Topic. Some topics are 200+ postings long, meaning they are difficult to read. Closing a Thread helps reduce mixing old information with the new. And so on…
The link you provided is not a PDF, so I can not confirm your statement. You also hit the outdated “legacy” page, which is what you would get with a PDF. There is now a new 1.7 version that is very good.
Is it that you don’t want the blue to move or that you don’t want them to clump together? You are not within the work area, so actual position shouldn’t matter.
Either way, the process is similar. You cannot center items automatically to the blue shapes because they are not grouped. First, select all the blue shapes, unlock them, then group them. Now you could relock them if you wish. That will keep them in place, but I don’t think that’s really what you want.
Once they are grouped you can select the item you want to center on the blue, then shift select the blue and use the bullseye. Or conversely, select the blue group, shift select the other item and click bullseye.
I know there are tools at the top, but it slows me down, and on my keyboard, I can’t press Alt+Home with one hand.
I thought there might be a single key for that?
I believe there is an issue with the difference between GROUP and LOCK. Nicely deduced and explained by @thelmuth.
There is a button that looks like a cross hair in the control panel. That will center groups or single object with other groups or single objects
Also, the “P” key will center objects or group of objects on the center of the work space. You can always select objects and then center them on the work space.
Ctrl+Z is “go back one step” and it will stack many many steps in memory. It is my favorite key. It allows me to make a mistake and undo it easily
I don’t think so. In the Edit Hotkeys dialog you can change the hotkey to something more “reach friendly” for you. It will tell you if the hotkey you choose is used by another command and then you can decide if you want to remove it from the other command or try something different.
