Is the item in that screenshot something you created or is there a plugin for something like that?
Just thought it worth mentioning that F360 has a free hobbyist license which allows up to 10 items in edit mode (with all others in read-only mode.)
Means a 2-second juggle to free up an item to edit occasionally, but is totally workable.
(Unless things have changed in the last short while!)
That’s one of my designs. I’m not aware of any Fusion add-ins specifically for creating boxes although there are some for creating joints.
Hi, have a look at http://flatfab.com/ its a free software that allows you do design your own flat pack slot together creations. I’ve only played with it a bit but it might be useful.
I’ll have to give that another try - could not make head nor tail of it when I last had a play
I did discover that and it looks quite interesting. So many apps to learn!
Just another 3D modeling program. I was hoping I could give it a picture of a T-Rex and it would create the planar pieces. I mean, this is the age of AI, right?
I actually found and tried a really intriguing app a while back and have not been able to remember how to find it or what it was called. It looked like an old pet project that let you design things through parameters (if I remember correctly). It was super cool, but not polished and quite limited. It had a green dino, I think, and you could tell it how many spine bones and it would regenerate it. I love the concept. You’re 100% right that tools are due for a major focus shift for design.
@71Hardtop mentioned it earlier in this thread - http://flatfab.com/
