How do I make the lines being drawn thicker?

Lines are essentially infinitely thin… or practically as thick as the kerf of your laser.

So you don’t really makes lines thicker. Instead, you define an area which you can then “fill” by assigning the layer type to fill.

How you define an area is by having 2 closed shapes, one in the other. The area between them is considered for the fill. Both shapes should be on the same layer for them to interact.

You can toggle wireframe vs filled views in the Window menu to see how the shapes will be rendered.

If the lines must be the same thickness on a given engraving task, you can also defocus your laser. It is especially time-saving on large areas.
